Spring Time Cross-Pollination: Subspecialties Hybridization

Friday, April 1, 2022

1:00-3:50pm

 Virtual on-line platform

The program will involve synchronous (live) and asynchronous (on demand) content, with the live portion running from 1:00-3:50pm on Friday, April 1, 2022.  Resident presentations including two research grant winners and one featured speaker will be pre-recorded and will be available to view at your own leisure beginning on March 28

Program Description:

Springtime Hybrid Cross Pollination implies the hope that we can fertilize our otolaryngology brains with seeds of thought from other specialties. We are going to have Cardiology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Dermatology, and Neurology represented to discuss areas of overlap/things those specialists want us to know. Seeing similar problems that present to other specialties and understanding their approach to solving it may help us in our problem solving ability, communication, and ability to integrate our patients into the health care system more effectively

Program Objectives:

  • Learn the approach to allergy/asthma patients from a Pulmonary perspective
  • Learn the approach to reflux patients from a GI perspective
  • Review appropriate cardiac clearance for otolaryngologic surgical candidates/procedures
  • Develop awareness of the otolaryngology manifestations of Dermatologic illness, specifically bullous disease
  • Review Neurologic approach to migraine
